Dolce Far Niente

Geeking is good

Listened to episode one of the revitalized Sudo Show. The first part of it was also about how the three hosts got involved in Linux. What was their journey? It made me think back to the noughties of the previous century, when I started working in a print shop. That's certainly a story for another day, but suffice it to say I got infected there with the computer virus. DOS, Win386, even some Apple's (used by graphical designers) and my first own computer: a Toshiba 8086 laptop, using AmiPro and Lotus Agenda. Great memories! What was similar with the story of the hosts was the curiosity, of learning, trying out, failing and sometimes succeeding, but always staying curious. That's probably what still brings me to the likes of Slackware, Gentoo and brewing your own bootc image, to name but a few.
