These Days Are You Know What
What times am I even in?
CachyOS, an Arch derivative, with mangowm and noctalia, takes up 15Gb. No btrfs snapshots whatsoever. I have the feeling everyone just slaps a load of thingies in an iso, done. Done indeed.

And both Slackware and Gentoo have updated to Plasma 6.8.2, how can I choose? To be fair: Larry was early and has it in the official repo's (albeit Testing). Funny both Slackware and Gentoo are basically meant to be used as stable distro's and obviously I run them on the sharp end: Current and Testing respectively. That's me. In the 5 years I've had a Slackware Current of some sort running it was never the distro itself that crashed on me. Say no more.

Nevertheless: came very close to ditching Slackware last week, after 4 or 5 years. Waaaayyyy to much cruft (25 to 32Gb, seriously?). That is so diametrically opposed to what I want, clean cut and lean. Even removed the likes of mutt. And no intention to move on to Wayland-only KDE (at least officially).
Still, the community makes it hard, there's a couple of greybeards hangin' in the fedishizzle that are really friendly and fun people and the French version of Jay pulled me back in. Okay, I'll stay.

Couldn't resist my dabbling with bootc containers and had a go at bootc-broccoli, my opinionated spin on Cosmic desktop, based on a UniversalBlue bootc container. Find it over here, it is fun and runs on my work laptop. I need a bit more stability and security on that one:

Enough happening in the techie stuff. And I haven't even discussed Chimera Linux, Daemonarchy (a FreeBSD spin on Omarchy) or Dakotaraptor (Bluefin, based on GnomeOS, skipping the distro alltogether). That's all for next time!
